Noted from Mr Wigglez

Tuesday 13th September 2011
- 52 Hand Block. Also called "Jailhouse Rock" according to Mr Wigglez. Prisoners from Rikers Island called it so perhaps as a reference to the card game "52 Pick Up." Quoting Mr Wigglez - "you show someone some card tricks, and the you say, you wanna play 52 pick up, they say yea, and you spray the deck of cards on the floor and say PICK IT UP!"
- 52 Hand Block came from dirty boxing, Kung Fu Flix such as 36 Chambers, Master Killa.

NOTE: Wikipedia has a brief summary too
Not sure how accurate this is.
Quote "52 blocks has been referenced in journalist Douglas Century's Street Kingdom: Five Years Inside the Franklin Avenue Posse, as well as numerous Wu Tang Clan songs and Ted Conover's book Newjack."

- In this video Mr Wiggles displays his earliest thread done from a head track in 82-83. He also does the threads from the baby freeze, and chair freeze.
- In his humble opinion, Mr Wiggles and Kwikstep were the first to do threads. However the footage of Nico from Throwdown Rockers (Sweden) shows that he was doing threads in '87.
- The question so far is Nico doing the threads before or after Andreaus and Mateaus from Sweden filmed Kwikstep doing the threads?

"IMHO in the 70's Originally footwork was uptop, they called Rockin steps Footwork. In My Own Experience, When i first learned Breakin, I never heard the use of the word Footwork. It was just "Break" words like Drops, Dips, Shuffles, Sweeps, and Russians and stuff like that. Footwork IMHO Represents when Latino Rockers started Breaking and putting Intricate Rocking and Hustle Steps on the Floor. That's my Humble Opinion. The first Shuffle pattern I ever leaned was simply Drop on all 4's and Criss Cross your Legs. and then Sweep. (I see BBOY TEKNYC do it allot. That was the first Shuffle i learned. Then i saw another Puerto Rican Kid do it but on his Side! and i thought it was sooooo FRESH! But the Criss Cross Shuffle is old school and they did that move on there Elbow's, and that was another big move...Breaking on the Elbows (later called Elbow Rock) lol.. simple but still funky for back then."

"BBoying Came from a Funk And Soul Movement. in the 70's it was called Going Off, Rocking, Breaking, and then HIP HOP. But Make No MISTAKE This is a direct shoot Off of FUNK, and SOUL,. (thats why you always see Bambatta Make References to FUNK!) Most of the Music being Played in these events is James Brown style breaks and Latin Soul. (I cant even call them JAMS any More. I Call it BBOY BALLROOM events, Cause in JAMS BBOYS Dance with BGIRLS) BUt what gets me is that Cats Forgot that HIP HOP MUSIC (Be it BREAK BEATS, or RAP MUSIC) comes from FUNK! and SOUL."

Quoted from Mr Wiggles
"IMHO BBoying is a Soul & Funk Dance done to Soul & Funk Music. So you gotta dance with SOUL & FUNK. Period Dot. If you know the formula for Funk, then you will understand the "1" (one) and when you know about the one, you will understand that the "1" can be anywhere in the song. And thats when you understand the musical structure of a Funk Song. This will come once a BBOY Actually stops doing SETS, and Starts to FREESTYLE different to every SONG. We should never dance the same to every song. Every Song will spark different FEELINGS, and it is up to a BBOY/BGIRL to capture that Feeling with Top Rock and Footwork, and you can't do it unless you let go of some of those SETS and Start Freestylin more. IMHO"

- Dino Rock (RIP) behind Kid Terrific (2:26) is doing 52 Block Dance.
52 Block Dance: "It was actually Jailhouse Rock, Hand styles for Blocking and catching punches from prison. and the streets. But allot of these hand styles is in BBoying. allot of the gestures and positions come from what they later coined 52 blocks." - Wigz

- During the shooting of the "Shango" scene in Beat Stree, Pow Wow showed Mr Wigglez one of his trademark moves, the "front sweep back sweep" combination. "Looks almost like a weird flare" - Wiggz.
-  Almighty KG (from Cold Crush 4, ex bboy from the 70s) taught Mr Wigglez, Kenny, and Legs the "truck drive" style top rock during the photoshoot of the Tribe Called Quest album cover in the 90s.
- "My Background in Breakin was more within the Black Community. And i never heard them use the word TOP ROCK. It was just BREAKIN. Weather you did it on top or on the ground" - Wiggz
- "...never heard the term 6 step or 4 step, ect... it was a different vibe on footwoprk. Allot of russians, sweeps, kick outs, spins, shuffles ect.. prolly less structure and more freestyle, used to call it "GOING OFF"" - Wiggz

- According to Aby (TBB) a lot of the footwork we know today came from Rock and hustle steps done on the ground.

Wednesday 27th July 2011
The styles Mr Wigglez used are: Kickouts, Spiderman, Peek A Boos, and Sporadic (Going Off).
- Mr Wigglez made the spiderman style with Powerful Pex whilst experimenting with Boogie Move combined with breaking. Then Crazy Legs turned it into the Spider Move. Mr Wigglez then incorporate it into footwork.
- Legs did the Spider Move against Lee (the actor from Beat Street) in the late 80s at an underground club in Bronx. Legs vs Lee and Kuriaki vs Joe Swift.
